Inter-school English
Day
The Net and
local English teachers co-plan regularly for co-taught lessons. In these
lessons the NET and local English teacher will be teaching together. The
co-taught lessons cover P.1 through to P.6. The lessons are designed to
follow closely the current theme of the textbook. However the use of activities,
songs and big books are used wherever possible to compliment the textbook
material. These lessons also expose the students to a language rich environment
as English will be the medium of instruction and interaction as far as
it is possible.
This class
has around 5-8 students. It is intended for the more able students. This
lesson includes P.1-P.6.The content of the lesson will be related to the
current unit of work within the student's textbook, but will focus on
extending the students knowledge of the topic. The students will be asked
to participate in reading, writing, speaking and listening activities.
This class is
aimed at students who stay in school after the main school day has finished.
The target students are P.4 - P.6. This class will use games and activities
to help the students develop the English skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Students will be encouraged to interact with each other in English.
TSA is an EMB
organized assessment. All students in P.6 and P.3 will be assessed for
reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The main purpose of this
period is to give students exposure to the format of the assessment, especially
the speaking section. This period gives students the opportunity of one-to-one
time with the NET, and aims to build their confidence in this skill.
